My passion for massage and the understanding of the benefits first started in 1996. Whilst overseas I met an Elder who was in need of some nuturing due to illness. She was in considurable pain and becoming weak through lack of movement from bed confinement. I began to help her by gently stroking and rubbing her arms and legs with traditional oil she had requested I use. During this time she began sharing with me many stories as she began to relax. She did not speak fluent english however she soon began to gesture and guide me as to what to do to help ease her pain. I had never given a massage before and was suprised when I began to see what the strokes and gentle but firm kneeding were achieving. Warm baths were given also and I noticed she slept for hours after I had done what she directed me to do. After about a week of this type of treatment combined with her traditional herbs she recovered. Before I departed she blessed me. She shared with me that I had a gift that needed to be nurtured and used to help others in need of healing. She told me I was to continue on with this type of healing treatment on my return to Australia. And so began my journey with healing massage, leading me to become a fully qualified Massage Therapist and Master Teacher in Reiki and Seichim.
